Recap of 1/19/12

We made some great progress today! We started in on some actual game dev techniques, specifically the game development cycle.
While we only touched on this subject, our next meeting will go much more in depth. We'll be discussing the specifics of the idea section of the cycle, and go through another few iterations on The Lonely Electron.
Thanks to Brenner, Collin, Justin, and Skye for showing up! And as always, thanks to Mr. Harrison for letting us use his room!

Dominion Game Mechanics

I like that Dominion can be played in many unique ways by changing which card combinations you start with. You can change the strategy required to win just by adding or removing one card. The biggest problem I had is that I did not feel like I had very much control over the game, this may have been because of the card combination we used. I felt like no matter which cards I bought the game would still be too heavily influenced by the cards drawn.

Recap of 11/10/11

Our second meeting was by my accounting a success! We managed to hit everything I wanted to, and we got some good analysis (and some great game playing) done! Thanks for being there Brenner, Aaron, Justin, Donovan, Colton, Josh, Collin, and another person whose name escapes me... ;)
Be prepared for our next meeting by coming up with some mechanics from Dominion, and your favorite game, then put them in a blog post here! I'll work them in to my presentation next time.
